It is said that we have images all around us.
Since my background is in science, I was lucky enough to find another job during the pandemic. The travel to and from work is about one hour and thirty minutes which meant that I use as an opportunity to be productive.
Productivity usually means catching up on my reading, listening to podcasts or typing up blogposts. On days where I feel lazy, I am on Netflix.
Not all roads are built the same.
The bus I take passes through some the most beautiful sceneries which I initially missed by burying my nose in my phone. This image is one of those views. The only thing that I hade to do was be patient till the weather corporates to capture this stunning scenery.
For one the edit was a lot simpler. Since there was already quite a bit of drama in the sky, the only thing to do was to darken slightly to bring the clouds out and add a little bit of contrast. This allows to separate the trees from the background of the image.
Even after these actions, I found the foreground to be quite distracting as it was quite light. This was completely darkened leaving just a hint of light right in the middle giving a fake illusion of a vignette.
These actions reduces overall distractions in the foreground, balance out the image and drawing the eye towards the skyline and our subjects.

Love this scene!!! Beautiful and dramatic!! Just think of all the beautiful scenery we miss when we don’t take the time to look around.
Sometimes it’s important to intentionally slow down and most importantly take our noses off our phone screens.
Beautiful image and nice editing. Suits B&W!
Thank you very much
